The portal experience was very interesting and cool. I learned that the weather is warm almost everyday. They know a lot about America, like the president and the wall he wants to build. Rami is a very good rapper. We suggested that he should start a soundcloud and he did. I also learned that they just got ended a war. Iraq seems like a very interesting place.
I loved the portal. We spoke to Rami and Mohammed, but mainly Rami because Mohammed didn't speak English. We showed them Trashy Bish, and then after i found out that he was a musician too! Except he did it for real and had a better topic and didn't improvise the entire song. He also told us that it was usually warm there and at the time it was 75 degrees. The portal was so cool!
The portal was awesome! It's a really unique way to learn about different countries and cultures by talking to somebody from across the world. I felt kind of awkward at first because I'm bad at talking to new people but it got a little easier by the end. I'm pretty sure they were refugees and I wanted to ask them about that but I didn't know how to go about doing that. I learned that the war got over a few years ago, it's really warm there, they know a ton about America and the politics (they don't like Trump either which is pretty great), and that Rami is a great rapper. We got his instagram and snapchat which was really funny. I really loved the portal and would definitely try it again:)
The portal today was so cool! it was so interesting to see that their interests were so similar to ours. I would have never expected that. I learned that it is really hot in Iraq currently and they were shocked when we told them that were was a ton of snow on the ground. We asked them if they have ever seen snow and they said that they have actually seen a little but not a lot. We also learned that soccer is the most popular sport in Iraq and it was their favorite sport to play/ watch. Although soccer is not the most popular sport in the USA, its still pretty popular. The Portal is an experience like no other and i hope many more people get to experience what i experienced today!
The portal was something I would never have expected to come across and it gives the students of the high school an innovative way of reaching out and connecting with various people around the world to ask them questions about who they were, what their lifestyle is like, etc. In this recent visit to the portal, I (and other students) were given the opportunity to speak with Rami Mohammed (and another person), a resident of Iraq, a country known for its political instability in the Middle East. I have learned a few things about Rami like how he was a talented rapper, and we encouraged him to push his career forward by convincing him to start a SoundCloud. I have also learned about couple things of Iraq, such as the weather always being in somewhat high to high numbers and that they have just gone through a war and have managed to hold out during the violence lasting for multiple years. We just so happened to grab a hold of his social media accounts towards the end of the visit, which was pretty amusing for the majority of us. The portal was definitely a learning experience for all the students who have tried it out and I anticipate greater things to come out of it that give people more knowledge about the world and the people who inhabit it.

I enjoyed the portal. It was a very interesting experience and something new to bring to the table for classes. We talked with two young adult men from Erbil,Iraq while we were in Andover,Massachusetts. It is very different there then from what it is like here. We learned that the climate there is much hotter than here where it's cold in March. One of them wasn't even wearing any shoes maybe because it is so hot or another reason we don't know about. They told us they had to go through a war a few years before in Iraq so they had to different places while we have more of a safer environment here in the US. One of the men was named Rami Mohammed who rapped for us and that he wanted to go on with his music so we told him about a platform that could help him that we use here. He did tell us what his social media names were and he uses the same platforms we do. I think more schools should try this portal to bring this world more together.
I enjoyed experiencing the portal. I thought it was really cool that we could talk to kids in a different country and learn more about how they live in present time. Durning the portal we talked to a couple of kids who were from Erbil, Iraq and we mainly talked about sports and food. It was unique learning about the different foods they eat and also the different sports they watch. in Erbil, Iraq we learned that they watch a lot of futbol (soccer) and they also eat a lot of the foods we eat in America such as pizza, hamburgers and rice. Overall my experience was fun and a little awkward but is worth trying again.
The portal experience in my opinion was very eye opening and different for we were able to meet Mohammad and Rami in Ebril, Iraq. At first, there were a few minor audio issues and it was awkward, however, after a few minutes we had discussed some of the differences in the weather, time, and we able to listen to a song that Rami had composed. Overall, I think that the portal is different because we were able to participate in some thing that you can not do everyday and we were able to connect with people in different areas of the world allowing us to learn more about them and possibly even ourselves.

I haven't been to the portal with our class, but i have been to the portal when it was in the same location with a different class. I was talking to rami about the kind of music he produces and what his inspiration was in music. They also taught me how the weather is there which is usually warm but it changes a lot. They know a lot about us to even thought they are so far away they know a lot about america where we didn't know much about them until now. Overall i think the portal is a cool place because you can connect with people around the world and learn new things about them without meeting them.
